As I looked at "Willyman's NES Games Page of Weird" today and saw the "Last Updated: 6/4/00" I was reminded of the good old days when I could sit in front of my computer for hours brewing up the next update for my site "Quizzle's NES Page". I remember how fun it was to wake up on a Saturday morning and go straight to my NES to play Dragon Warrior until my mom yelled at me to come eat some breakfast. I remember how fun it was to rummage through my old Nintendo Power mags looking for the location of a special item in The Legend of Zelda. I remember how fun it was when I stayed up until 2 a.m. attempting to beat Ninja Gaiden until I finally got to that last boss, my heart racing so fast and hands shaking so heavily I could barely press the little red buttons on the rectangle controller we all know so well from hours of use. I remember there being one bar of life left on my meter and the final boss had two. With my hands still shaking I delivered the last two blows and it was all over. I sat in front of my TV screen just staring blankly at the credits in amazement. With my eyes practically plastered shut from lack of sleep, I watched on until two words appeared on the screen that I had been yearning to see for months: "The End". A grin spread across my face.
